Mom's favorite subjects appear to be:

Birds nests
Missouri landscape scenes
Flowers, especially irises
Sycamores
Fruit still life

There are also the oddities:

A two foot by two foot chessboard
A White Castle restaurant
A blue-tinted plant or mill of some kind

3417 The Chessboard
This two foot by two foot chessboard features many of her favorite subjects in the squares.
The original has half the squares facing one way and half facing the other way. However in this copy of
the chessboard, the top half has been flipped over 180 degrees to make it easier to view.

I remember trying to paint a still life once, probably around age 12 or 13. The result was what you might expect from a kid with zero artistic talent and no practice.
