Rudra Veena

My design of a Rudra Veena – the venerated instrument of the medieval Moghul courts. The Rudra Veena is the instrument par excellence for playing the Dhrupad style of Hindustani music, considered the wellspring of all other styles of Indian classical music.
Construction: mahogany and Spanish cedar, huge gourds, moose antler jawari, other ornaments of camel bone and brass, Indian rosewood pegs, stainless steel frets. Length of daand 52″, daand diameter 2-1/2″, gourd diameter ca. 15-1/2″. $12,500.00
A sound sample I made before completing the French polish.
