Vintage Karachi Sitar

A lovely old (ca. 1950’s or earlier) sitar with a badge from Habib Ali and Sons. All new main pegs, all pegs refitted/reshaped, frets polished and retied, new strings. This sitar is entirely ornamented and fitted with camel bone, no plastic, a good indicator of a well made vintage sitar. At some point in the past spots of glitter were added to the tabli (!). This sitar is now in the permanent collection of the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, Arizona.
